Suzanne Phelps Chambers

Suzanne is an Amrit yoga (certified by the Yoga Alliance) and Amrit Yoga Nidra instructor, spiritual life coach, and professional artist. Her first love and commitment is to yoga, which she discovered at Kripalu in Lenox, MA in 1999 at the introductory weekend course. This began a spiritual journey with endless depth and breadth that informs every aspect of her life and teaching. Along with returning to Kripalu numerous times, she studied Kundalini yoga in Boston while simultaneously enrolled in a multi-year healer training program. Beginning at the Center at Westwoods, Suzanne has participated in women’s groups with her spiritual teacher Cynthia Gramer for many years. With this foundation, her individual yoga practice took off exponentially at her first visit to the Amrit Institute in Crystal Springs, Florida following a profound mystical experience guiding her towards that lineage. She began working one-on-one and in online groups with Amrit yoga senior instructors including Heather Indu Arena, and she later returned to become certified in Amrit Yoga Nidra by Kamini Desai and John Vosler just before the pandemic. Currently during Winter 2024, she is enrolled in the Advanced I-AM Yoga Nidra Teacher Training and Certification from the Amrit Yoga Institute furthering her understanding of this profound practice. In 2021, Suzanne took the life-changing 200-hour Amrit Yoga Teacher training with Nirali and was later certified by the Yoga Alliance in 2022. She attended the Living Yoga program with Senior Amrit Instructor, Ramdas Ormond through the Bhakti House in 2022. Suzanne has an extensive understanding of codependency and addictions, and decades of experience with Twelve-Step programs.

Suzanne received her professional guiding and coach training from the Psychosynthesis Coach Training Program in 2013 and 2014 under the instruction of Didi Firman at the Synthesis Center in Amherst, MA. She completed two years of Psychosynthesis Training, Levels I and II, prior to starting the coach training program. Thus, she is experienced in Psychosynthesis guiding work, distinguished from life coaching which was a followup program. Suzanne studied energy medicine for four years at The Rhys Thomas Institute of Energy Medicine and became a certified Energy Medicine Practitioner in 2010.

From her own corporate work experience in the publishing industry over 30 years, Suzanne understands how intense work pressures and personal life stress can be at odds with creating a comfortable work-life balance and sense of fulfillment and personal peace.  As a longtime yoga practitioner, meditator, and artist, it gives her great joy to serve individuals seeking to understand, deepen, and enrich their spiritual lives. As someone who's faced many tough personal and professional challenges herself, she wants to help those who are struggling with stress or unhappiness to move towards their new vision based upon the calling of your authentic Self. Suzanne is happy to discuss ways to flexibly shape your individual sessions to draw on various yoga asana, pranayama or meditation practices, energy healing modalities, and coaching tailored to your needs.

Suzanne lives with her longtime partner Brian (Arthur's Soul Adventure, O'Books, U.K.) in rural Southeastern Vermont. Her son lives in the beautiful state of New Mexico.
